Fire Trucks are Cool

I think he was most impressed by the pole, although apparently firemen don't use the pole much anymore, but also by meeting a real, live fire chief.

so many big trucks!

it seems that every year Herndon has a truck day, where they open up a section of the public works yard and allow all the kids in the region to come and climb over and into a whole mess of big trucks. Of course the Widge was all about that (not so much climbing in, he wasn't into that). See the happy Widget:

it was in our yard yesterday evening (that red bit there is the barn, for those of you who know the yard). Any guesses as to what it is?

in other news, the Widge loves cupcakes ("cake-cup" he says), I had a good photo but I can't find it just now (darn it). Here he is playing on the farm we took him to:feeding sheep

and piloting some sort of vehicular device. Lots of fun for a small boy, so much fun that he couldn't be bothered to pause and eat his ice cream!
