Discovery Place

I have all these pictures hanging around my computer, so now you get to see them. first of all, Nick: as it turns out I don't have a video of me in a lion suit jumping through hoops. But I do have a photo:The Widge also jumped through hoops:and was a strongman:

When I was a strongman, my muscles were mightier, but I lifted less:
The Widge apparently met a pirate, which I was unaware of until I saw the photo.
What else went on while I was in line for the tightrope, Mattie? Did you two sign up to sail the seven seas? I notice you were practicing your knot tying fairly seriously:

Anyway, its not too worrisome, because in reality the Widge and I are actual pirates:and the Wide also eats pirates. See the cute little pirate cupcake before:

and after:mmmm, sweet, and yet scurvy-ish! Discovery place gets two big thumbs up for their cool cupcake place. Anyway, the Widge really loved the children's area:

he even put on a little puppet show:The Widge refused to go into the hurricane tube to experience the winds of a category 1 hurricane. Matt mostly looks like he's being beamed up:
and while I'm posting Matt stuff, here he is walking the tightrope:

we rounded out the day with a trip to UNCC, which is a cute little place, for a school that was founded in the 20th century *scoff*note that the Widge is still being a pirate.

Tweetsie

In an attempt to get back on track, I'll be posting my photos from Tweetsie now.

the Widge was fascinated by all the western theming. He decided to become a cowboy.Look how happy he is to be hanging out with showgirls!

He and Matt panned for gold.
We rode the stage.Met the sheriff.
And the Widge even drove a train.
And then we drove off into the sunset!

Hey, I'm a Divorcee!

To celebrate, I went to Chuck E. Cheese with the Widge, Matt, and his folks!

The last time I went to North Carolina, I was so sluggish in posting that I think most of you never get to see all my photos. I'm trying to stay ahead of the game this time. So:

three days ago we went back to the Rutherfordton Children's Museum.their supermarket is awesome. And the Widge is a great shopper, too.of course we loved the fire truck.the biggest draw in acting is apparently the ability to switch the house lights offand on repeatedly.
The Widge built a Lego city, which he named after himself.

I'm not sure how well it shows up in this picture, but this time Rutherfordton is only one minute ahead of New York.

the next day, Matt came home early and took us out to hunt for gems!

We had little screens, and a big bucket of dirt, and we screened through the dirt at this sluice for a while.then we went down to the creek to hunt for gems.

After his bath, the Widge proudly showed off his haul.
yesterday we went to the Asheville Botanical Gardens

where we mostly played in the stream

I love the way you can barely see him in some of these photos, he blends in like a happy ittle rabbit.
